  1. Skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer worldwide.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>

    The so-called \u201cwhite skin cancer\u201d (basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma) is one of the most common types of tumors.<\/p>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    1. Malignant melanoma \u2013 the so-called \u201cblack skin cancer\u201d is a very dangerous type of cancer.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>

      The reason for this is that these cancer cells can spread very quickly through the lymphatic system and bloodstream. Although this type of cancer is rarer, the numbers are increasing worldwide, according to the Cancer Information Service.<\/p>

      \u00a0<\/p>

      1. The risk of skin cancer increases every year.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>

        In principle, skin cancer can occur in anyone and at any age, even in childhood. However, the risk increases with age, which makes thorough preventative care from a dermatologist more and more important.<\/p>

        1. If detected early, skin cancer can be treated very well.<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>

          If skin cancer screening is carried out regularly, it can usually be easily removed or treated if detected early. Skin cancer screening should be carried out at least every two years – this is usually paid for by health insurance companies. Annual skin cancer screening is recommended for high-risk patients (e.g. fair-skinned people with many moles).<\/p>
