Pigmentations are caused by an excessive accumulation of melanin — the pigment responsible for the color of our skin. However, hyperpigmentation can also occur after injuries. Young women in particular can develop dark spots in the facial area due to hormones — estrogen in particular. The so-called melasma occurs particularly frequently on sun-exposed areas of the face such as the upper lip, forehead, cheeks and temples.
Lasers can completely remove pigmentation. We would be happy to advise you from a specialist before treating pigmentations in order to rule out the possibility of removing a mole.

After extensive individual consultation, we use the ruby laser or the pico laser. With this wide range of pigment lasers, we have more wavelengths available, giving us a wider therapeutic spectrum.
The treatment is very quick. Depending on the size of the spots, the actual laser treatment only takes a few seconds. Cooling is usually not necessary, but makes the treatment much more comfortable. After that, sun protection is mandatory. The annoying spot usually disappears completely after three to four weeks. A second session is rarely necessary.
